Bitwise has announced that its Bitcoin Standard Corporations Index has two new entrants — Fold Holdings and Bitdeer Technologies. Bitwise Investments, a crypto index and exchange-traded funds provider, has added Fold Holdings and Bitdeer Technologies to the Bitwise Bitcoin ( BTC ) Standard Corporations ETF. The asset manager announced their inclusion via a post on X on March 25, 2025. Fold Holdings is a Phoenix-based Bitcoin financial services firm founded in 2019. Meanwhile, Bitdeer Technologies is a Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin miner with operations in the United States, Norway and Bhutan. Fold and Bitdeer join the Bitwise fund targeted at Bitcoin-heavy companies just days after its launch. With the two new additions, the ETF, which trades under the ticker OWNB, now includes 22 companies that hold at least 1,000 BTC in their treasury. “The fund does not invest directly in bitcoin or indirectly through derivatives that reference bitcoin,”Bitwise noted. According to Bitwise, the index tracks notable companies with Bitcoin as treasury assets, including Michael Saylor’s Strategy, bitcoin mining firm MARA Holdings, and Elon Musk’s Tesla. The top 10 companies in the ETF also include Riot Platforms, Metaplanet, and Semler Scientific. Metaplanet has been one of the more aggressive Bitcoin buyers, with its haul of 3,350 BTC reflecting a strategy similar to that of Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy. With OWNB now including 22 companies, the ETF collectively holds more than 648,000 BTC worth over $54 billion, accounting for about 3.2% of the total Bitcoin supply. Notably, Strategy held 506,137 BTC acquired for over $33.7 billion as of March 25, giving it the highest weight in the Bitwise Standard Corporations Index at 22.64%. MARA and Riot follow with weightings of 10.67% and 10.04%, respectively. Metaplanet is weighted at 5%, ranking as the fourth largest holding. Per Bitwise’s OWNB website, Fold holds 1,485 BTC worth roughly $130 million, while Bitdeer holds 1,039 BTC worth about $92 million.

Cboe BZX Exchange has officially filed form 19b-4 for a new Solana exchange-traded fund with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing with the SEC sees Cboe officially add Fidelity’s proposed Solana ( SOL ) ETF to the growing list of altcoin related applications before the U.S. securities watchdog. With form 19b-4, Cboe is looking for SEC’s approval of a proposed rule change that will see the exchange list and trade shares of the Fidelity Solana Fund. Application for a nod from the regulator follows the registration of a Solana trust with the CSC Delaware Trust Company. Fidelity Investments now joins a host of industry players seeking regulatory approval for spot Solana ETFs from the SEC. They include Canary Capital, Franklin Templeton, Grayscale and VanEck. The 19b-4 filing comes just a day after Fidelity also sought SEC’s greenlight for a blockchain-based fund tracking its money market fund. As crypto.news highlighted , the company is looking to unveil an ETF for its on-chain fund the Fidelity Treasury Digital Fund. The fund, with ticker FYHXX, holds cash and U.S. Treasury securities. While the scramble for spot ETFs goes a notch higher with Cboe BZX’s filing with the SEC, the market is looking to gauge demand via the performance of Solana futures ETFs. Florida-based Volatility Shares debuted the Volatility Shares Solana ETF and Volatility Shares 2X Solana ETF on March 20, 2025. The two products, with ticker symbols SOLZ and SOLT respectively, saw notable volume on launch, which has prompted analysts to predict potential demand.

Ripple has agreed to drop its appeal against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, according to Ripple chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty. Just days after the SEC dropped its case against XRP ( XRP ) creator Ripple, the company has confirmed it is also dropping its counter-appeal. In a post on X , Alderoty said both parties had not only agreed to withdraw their respective appeals but had also settled on a reduced fine, cutting the original $125 million penalty to $50 million. “The final crossing of t’s and dotting of i’s – and what should be my last update on SEC v Ripple ever,” Alderoty wrote. “Last week, the SEC agreed to drop its appeal without conditions. Ripple has now agreed to drop its cross-appeal. The SEC will keep $50M of the $125M fine (already in an interest-bearing escrow in cash), with the balance returned to Ripple.” The SEC is also set to request that Judge Analisa Torres lift the standard “obey the law” injunction imposed on Ripple following the agency’s motion. However, these agreements remain subject to a vote by the Commission. Final documentation and other standard court procedures also need to be completed. Once finalized, the Ripple versus SEC case, which began in December 2020, will officially conclude. The latest news around the case comes as the SEC takes a complete u-turn following the exit of former chair Gary Gensler. Reports that the regulator was winding up its case against Ripple also surfaced. Under new interim chair Mark Uyeda, the SEC has, over recent weeks, dropped investigations and closed several high-profile lawsuits, including those against crypto exchanges Coinbase and Kraken. A more pro-innovation stance has marked this new direction, moving away from the regulation-by-enforcement approach seen during Gensler’s tenure. Among the changes: roundtable meetings by the Crypto Task Force, now led by Commissioner Hester Peirce. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump’s pick for new SEC Chair Paul Atkins is expected to take over in coming weeks.

BlackRock, the leading asset management company, has increased its Ethereum holdings under the BUIDL to over $1 billion. That highlights a notable milestone in the cryptocurrency’s institutional adoption. Reports indicate that BlackRock’s assets under management (AUM) in the BUIDL fund climbed to $1.145 billion as of March 23rd, a notable increase from around $990 million in the previous week. Ethereum constitutes the majority of the capital in BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, with additional allocations across other blockchain platforms like Avalanche, Polygon, Aptos, Arbitrum, and Optimism.
