BGB burn

Bitget launched a quarterly burn program, with the first burn completed at the end of 2024. A total of 800 million tokens were burned, reducing BGB's total supply to 1.2 billion, all of which are now in full circulation. Starting in 2025, the burn amount will be based on the "Quarterly Amount of BGB Used as Gas Fee".

Tokenomics

BGB had an initial supply of 2 billion tokens, with 25% allocated to BFT holders through a swap. The remaining 75% is distributed across community acquisition, branding and growth, ecosystem investment, core team incentives, and investor protection.
