What is Skeb (SKEB)?
Skeb is a decentralized commission platform in Japan that links people who are interested in Japanese content with native creators. Skeb allows creators in the $25 billion Japanese content industry to directly profit from their own arts by tokenizing it, allowing for rapid transactions, traceable content, secondary liquidity, and built-in royalties. The platform has experienced a consistent monthly 10-20% growth since its launch in 2018, and is currently supporting more than 113,000 creators.
How Skeb (SKEB) Works
Skeb enables a vibrant and robust creator economy where a creator can find supporters easily and receive multiple sources of revenues from supporters. A user needs to sign in with Twitter, follow their favorite Japanese artists, and request art from their user pages. All requested content must be included in the request text. Any other or further communications with creators beyond the text of the request are not allowed. Violations can result in penalties such as suspension of the Skeb account.
Skeb has plans to develop a mobile app and another app for VR/AR assets called Skebverse.
SKEB is the native token of the Skeb platform and it is used to pay for transaction fees and merchandise sales. The token can also be staked to join the DAO.
