The new tariff policy may drive up prices, American public: The government turns a blind eye to ordinary people
The recent announcement of new tariff policies by the U.S. government has raised concerns among American economic analysts. They predict that the new tariff policy will further drive up U.S. prices, imposing a greater burden on consumers' lives. The Tax Foundation, an American think tank, estimates that the average import tax in the United States will soar from 2.5% last year to 19% this year, which is the highest since 1933. The foundation also stated that after-tax income for America's wage-earning class will decrease by an average of 2.1% this year, while annual consumption for ordinary American families will increase by $2100 USD. Analysts at JPMorgan Chase pointed out that America's new tariff policy would cost Americans an extra $660 billion in taxes per year. Prices are set to skyrocket again and America's long-standing high inflation rate is expected to be pushed higher once more.
