Bitcoin eyes $110K rally as PCE data looms
Bitcoin’s (CRYPTO:BTC) price trajectory hinges on the March 28 PCE inflation report, with analysts forecasting a potential surge to $110,000 if macroeconomic risks ease.
“Attention will turn to the PCE inflation print, which could become the next key catalyst,” QCP Group noted, suggesting that the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis’ data release could alleviate inflation concerns and boost risk assets like BTC.
Bitcoin has historically performed well in April, averaging a 12.9% monthly return, making it the fourth-best month for price gains.
However, recent volatility—driven by global trade tensions and tariff uncertainties—has tempered optimism.
“Global tariff fears will continue to pressure markets until at least April 2,” Nicolai Sondergaard of Nansen warned, pending international agreements.
Despite these headwinds, bullish sentiment persists.
Arthur Hayes (BitMEX) and Juan Pellicer (IntoTheBlock) argue BTC is more likely to hit $110,000 before a pullback to $76,500.
“Growing institutional interest and liquidity could favor a price increase in the near term,” Pellicer stated, citing the Federal Reserve’s easing monetary policy and institutional inflows as tailwinds.
The PCE report’s impact will be closely watched, particularly after Bitcoin’s 14% decline since January 20, when U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods were announced.
While options positioning shows limited volatility risk, analysts emphasise that tariff resolutions and inflation trends will dictate April’s trajectory.
Bitcoin’s technicals and macroeconomic factors suggest a bullish April, though geopolitical risks remain a wildcard.
“We don’t expect major volatility from options alone, but the PCE print could shift sentiment,” QCP Group concluded.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin (BTC) price was $87,612.88.
