Belarus’ Mogilev Region Starts Prepping Mining Farm Sites

Belarus’ Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Chairman Anatoly Isachenko told President Aleksandr Lukashenko about the specifics of his report, with a particular focus on leading development projects.

The biggest highlight was the strategy for the implementation of crypto mining farms in the region. Isachenko underscored that Mogilev offers optimal locations with established energy facilities for the deployment of large-scale mining operations.

The government has been given the go-ahead on the project and is now in the process of preparing these sites for tendering to invite investors. The move is a component of Belarus’s larger strategy to integrate cryptocurrencies into its economy and use its energy resources for blockchain-related industries.

Another key focus was the modernization of dairy farms through the replacement of the old tethering system with new technology to enhance efficiency and productivity. Lukashenko has instructed officials to accelerate these upgrades.

The “One District – One Project” initiative remains a thrust in economic development, with 12 projects amounting to more than Br600 million already implemented. Investment has generated new businesses, with private companies being offered incentives to stimulate the economy of the area.

Furthermore, south-east Mogilev Region is experiencing new growth, with three trout farms currently under construction and due to start operations this year.

With the expansion of crypto mining, dairy, and aquaculture projects, the region aims to attract investment, create jobs, and enhance economic sustainability.
