Nethermind head: Version 1.3.1 plans to delete the historical records before the Ethereum merger on May 1
Marek Moraczyński, the head of the Ethereum client Nethermind, stated on the X platform that over 80% of the disk space of Ethereum full nodes is occupied by historical records, so there is no need for data to verify new blocks. In the new version 1.3.1, Nethermind is ready to delete historical records before the merge through ERA files, and all teams have agreed to execute the relevant operations on May 1st. If all blocks and receipts are deleted and only the data needed to verify the latest blocks is retained, the capacity of the full node will be less than 200 GB.
