American rapper Kanye West is once again at the center of a scandal. He released an ad for the Super Bowl and released it on the blockchain Solana token with clearly Nazi symbols.
The ad itself was unusual, featuring West lying in a dentist's chair and showing off his diamond-encrusted teeth. In the iPhone video, the rapper claimed he had spent his entire budget on dental work, which forced him to film the ad in a minimalist style.
"Well, guys, I spent all my money on these new teeth. So I had to shoot with my iPhone again," Kanye West said in the ad.
The ad redirected to the rapper's website, which featured only one product: a T-shirt with a swastika. Shortly after the video, which was broadcast not nationwide but in individual states, appeared on decentralized exchanges token West called hh-01, which could be a Nazi salute.
In a few hours token has increased in price by more than 3880%, according to DEX Screener data. At the time of publication, the asset’s market cap was $2,7 million.
West's actions were criticized by civil society and human rights organizations, and actor David Schwimmer and journalist Piers Morgan called for his social media account to be blocked.
