Metaplanet's Bitcoin holdings gained a floating profit of 35 million US dollars in 2024
The Japanese listed company Metaplanet announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2024, with unrealized gains on its Bitcoin holdings reaching $35 million (approximately 5.46 billion yen). By the end of 2024, the company held a total of 1,761 BTC, with a cumulative purchase cost of $137 million. Metaplanet plans to hold 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and increase its holdings to 21,000 BTC before the end of 2026. The company is increasing its Bitcoin holdings through issuing secured bonds, convertible bonds, equity financing and cash flow operations. In addition, Metaplanet's number of shareholders increased by 500% to 50,000 in 2024; Its stock price rose by eight percent on Monday and has risen by a total of sixty-four percent since the beginning of this year.
