Has Pump.Fun launched their official crypto token? Fact check
Certain social media posts on X had gone viral claiming that popular memecoin launching platform Pump.Fun had officially launched its memecoin token $PUMP on Sunday. The viral posts had claimed that the token has been designed to offer exciting benefits such as revenue sharing and exclusive platform access.
According to a post non X by popular crypto handle “Whale Insider”, PumpFun is distributing a substantial airdrop to attract users and boost engagement. The post further claimed that this initiative positions PumpFun as a strong competitor in the decentralized finance (DeFi) market by providing tangible value to its token holders.
The social media post had also claimed that $PUMP owners will gain access to exclusive features and a share in the platform’s revenues, potentially increasing its appeal to investors.
The Crypto Times did a fact check of the social media claim and found the news to be fake. The pump.fun management through its co-founder, has also released a statement denying any launch of an official token. The X community has also added a community note in the original post of Whale Insider claiming the same.
Therefore the claims that PumpFun has launched an official token stands to be false, after a fact check.
