Ethereum RPG 'Kuroro Wilds' Launches Play-to-Airdrop on Ronin With 10M KURO Rewards
Role-playing game Kuroro Wilds has launched a play-to-airdrop campaign ahead of its KURO token launch on Ethereum gaming network Ronin. Players will be rewarded for referring friends, completing social tasks, and finishing in-game quests.
Kuroro Wilds is the flagship title of a wider gaming ecosystem called Kuroro, which is still developing. This franchise includes three other projects: Kuroro Ranch, a Tamagochi-style Telegram game that is currently live; Kuroro Beast Brawl, a battle arena game gearing up for beta launch; and Kuroro Ancients, an NFT profile picture collection.
All of this falls under the same franchise, set on the island of Kuroro—a place where “beasts” run free and trainers collect and battle with them. Yes, it sounds a lot like Pokémon.
As Kuroro gears up for its token launch on Ethereum gaming network Ronin, the developers have decided to run a play-to-airdrop campaign for its flagship RPG title—which is described as “old-school Pokémon with an action-combat twist.” In its current state, Kuroro Wilds is in alpha and only available to play in-browser.

The campaign is set to run until February 12 "or so," which would be about a week. However, in other places, the campaign is listed as running for two weeks.
Kuroro’s team put aside 30 million KURO tokens for rewards within its ecosystem. During this week's event, airdrop points that correspond to 10 million KURO tokens and an undefined number of Treasure Eggs—which can be exchangeable for tokens, at a later date—are up for grabs. The points can be swapped for KURO once the token launches.
There are three primary ways to progress in the play-to-airdrop campaign. The first is through in-game and social quests, found in the Wilds Hub, like connecting your social accounts or defeating an in-game beast. Second, players are rewarded for successfully referring friends to play the game—a strategy that helped the Telegram gaming ecosystem grow so rapidly.
Finally, players who hold an exclusive “VIP pass” can collect VIP tickets, which will reward the player in KURO and RON tokens as well as NFTs. Rewards earned via this method come from a separate pool of tokens, however. On top of this, the top players on the leaderboard will have the chance to earn Treasure Eggs.
When the KURO token will launch has yet to be announced. Usually, though, play-to-airdrop campaigns like this one come as a project is gearing up for its token generation event as a way to generate hype. As such, KURO may come not long after the initial alpha test ends.
