Spanish law enforcement partners with blockchain companies Tron , Tether and TRM Labs have frozen $26,4 million in cryptocurrency believed to belong to a criminal group laundering money across Europe.

Justin Sun wrote on social media that the operation highlights that “criminals are attracted to the same features that make blockchain revolutionary – speed, efficiency, and borderless transactions.”

However, he stressed that transparency Tron makes money laundering difficult, and at the right moment, at the request of law enforcement agencies, it is possible to easily freeze $26 million.

Security measures on the network are reported Tron reduced the volume of illicit transactions on the blockchain by $6 billion. TRM Labs analysis shows that 49% of illicit activity on the blockchain is associated with sanctioned entities, and 32% is associated with blacklisted funds.

Despite the efforts made, the network remains the most used for illegal transactions, absorbing 58% of criminal activity in the sector. Steyblecoin USDT companies Tether remains a preferred asset for illicit financial movements.

Director General Tether Paolo Ardoino, in turn, added that the stablecoin issuer cooperated with more than 220 law enforcement agencies in 51 countries, freezing more than 2400 addresses that held a total of $2,2 billion.
