Has Donald Trump called Polygon the “Smoothest Network”? Let’s Fact Check
In the age of information technology, not all that catches the eye is supposed to be true.
Has 47th U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Polygon Network as the “smoothest network” in a recent statement released from the Oval Office? The internet will make you believe so.
In a video shared by the Polygon social media platform X, Trump is heard making claims that he had chosen polygon for his NFT ventures because it is the “smoothest network, no issues, runs great, and no network failure.” He also said that the polygon is “huge” (in Trump-esque manner) and is the oldest blockchain network.
While this looks like an official announcement, its more of satire by the team on social media. A closer look at the video shows an AI watermark at the bottom left corner. This creates big question for crypto community, as official channel are also misusing AI to promote themselves or spread fake propaganda.
Trump has launched two NFT collections, Trump Digital Trading Cards, on the Polygon blockchain, reinforcing the network’s reputation for handling high-profile projects seamlessly. In April 2023, Trump launched his second set of digital trading cards , on the Polygon blockchain.
However, not everyone is amused by the recent marketing gimmick by Polygon as X quickly awarded a community note to the original tweet with AI generated Trump video.
