Forbes Reporter: When the TRUMP token was released, Trump was holding a celebration with leaders of the American cryptocurrency industry in Washington
Forbes reporter Eleanor Terrett reported on the X platform that Trump announced the release of this token himself at 9:45 Friday night Eastern Time through his Truth Social and X accounts, while industry bigwigs were celebrating his return to the White House at the first cryptocurrency ball held in Washington D.C.
It is reported that attendees of the ball included CEOs from various crypto platforms, politicians, several new members of Trump's cabinet and his son Donald Trump Jr. After news of the token issuance came out, some attendees expressed skepticism, speculating that the account of the president-elect had been hacked. Donald Trump Jr. may have known about this news; he was isolated in a dedicated VIP area. It is currently unclear whether he has discussed "Trump Coin" with anyone there.
