Shiba Inu launches WHY Combinator to enhance BONE utility
Shiba Inu's (CRYPTO:SHIB) lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has unveiled the WHY Combinator, a decentralised initiative aimed at promoting innovation and adoption within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
This program is designed to empower projects while enhancing the utility of the ecosystem's BONE token.
In a blog update dated January 11, Kusama outlined the initiative's objectives and shared recent developments in the Shiba Inu community.
The WHY Combinator introduces over 30 technological tools, collectively referred to as the 36 Chambers of Tech, focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, Web3 gaming, and decentralised identity solutions.
Kusama stated that the initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of Shiba Inu technologies.
The program will support developers utilising Shibarium, the network's Layer-2 blockchain, to create innovative projects.
“This stack can quickly and efficiently move anyone into Web3 making ‘Powered by Shib’ just as common as powered by Google,” expressed Kusama, sharing his ambition for "Powered by Shib" to become as recognisable as major global tech brands.
Central to this initiative is the TREAT (CRYPTO:TREAT) token, which stands for Transactional Rewards for Engagement & Access Token.
TREAT will function as a settlement token for projects within the WHY Combinator and will drive community engagement through weekly TreatDrops, incentivising participation in the ecosystem.
“This not only invites new users to try things like our Metaverse… it will also incentivize new protocols, projects, and systems that are part of Why combinator,” noted Kusama.
Additionally, Shiba Inu developers are exploring ways to expand BONE's role within the network.
Currently serving as the gas token for Shibarium, BONE may soon facilitate Layer-3 solutions that would enhance Shibarium's functionality as both a settlement layer and data availability layer.
Kusama remains optimistic about Shibarium’s future despite scepticism, emphasising the team’s commitment to innovation and scalability in creating a robust ecosystem for developers and real-world applications.
At the time of reporting, the Shiba Inu (SHIB) price was $0.00002172, and the Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) price was $0.4592.
