The elected President of the United States, Trump, posted on social media that he will not stand by as BRICS countries attempt to break away from the dollar. He demanded that BRICS countries promise not to create a new BRICS currency and not support any other currency replacing the dollar, otherwise they will face a 100% tariff and may lose access to the US market.
