Storj Acquires Valdi to Offer High-Performance GPU Computing to Enterprise Clients
Crypto-backed cloud-storage platform Storj has acquired Valdi, a provider of high-performance cloud computing, to expand its services to enterprise clients with graphics-processing-unit (GPU) computing. The deal, for an undisclosed amount, will give Storj access to Valdi's network of over 16,000 GPUs globally, which are used for artificial intelligence (AI) training in industries such as technology, research and life sciences. The move comes as demand for power and infrastructure from AI and high-performance computing firms grows, with some bitcoin miners pivoting away from mining.
