Former President Donald Trump recently spoke at the Libertarian Party convention, where he advocated for commuting the sentence of Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the online marketplace Silk Road. Trump’s advocacy is part of his strategy to widen his support base for the upcoming 2024 presidential election and to counteract the influence of third-party candidates.

Nevertheless, a recent poll indicates that Trump is leading President Joe Biden among voters in seven pivotal swing states.
